Getting Started

Open LootLizard and tap "Sign Up" on the welcome screen. You can create an account with your email address or sign in with Google. Once signed in, your finds and sessions will sync across devices.

Tap the "Start Session" button on the Dashboard. LootLizard will begin recording your GPS path and session time. You can log finds during the session and end it when you're done.

Yes! You can log finds anytime from the Dashboard using the "Quick Find" button. The find will be saved with your current location but won't be associated with a session.

LootLizard requests the following permissions:

  • Location — To record GPS coordinates of your finds and track session paths.
  • Camera — To take photos of your finds.
  • Storage/Photos — To save and attach photos from your gallery.
  • Notifications — To alert you about session activity, achievements, and social updates.

All permissions are optional. You can use LootLizard without granting any of them, though some features will be limited.

Features & Usage

Go to Settings > Export Data. You can choose from CSV, JSON, GPX, or KML formats. Use the share button to send exports to other apps or save them to your device.

The Map tab displays all your logged finds as pins on an interactive map. Tap a pin to see find details. During an active session, your GPS path is drawn in real time. You can switch between map, satellite, and terrain views.

LootLizard includes 14 metal detecting categories: Coin, Jewelry, Relic, Button, Bullet/Casing, Buckle, Token, Tool, Toy, Natural (gold nuggets, meteorites), Military, Religious, Other, and Junk. Each category has its own icon and analytics.

LootLizard supports WearOS watches running Wear OS 3.0 or later. The companion app lets you start/stop sessions, log voice notes for finds, and track fitness metrics like steps, heart rate, and calories.

The Weather tab shows real-time conditions, hourly and daily forecasts, and detecting tips based on current weather. If you're near the coast, the Tides section displays tide charts and predictions to help you plan beach hunts.

Subscription & Billing

Pro removes all ads, increases usage limits (more photo uploads, social posts, and group hunts), and unlocks all premium features. You can subscribe monthly or yearly.

On Android: Open the Google Play Store > tap your profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > LootLizard > Cancel subscription.

On iOS: Open Settings > tap your name > Subscriptions > LootLizard > Cancel Subscription.

Your Pro features remain active until the end of your current billing period.

Yes. LootLizard uses cross-platform subscription management. Sign in with the same account on both platforms and your Pro status will be recognized automatically. You only need one active subscription.

Refunds are processed by the store where you purchased your subscription. For Google Play, visit Google Play's refund page. For the App Store, visit Apple's refund page. If you have trouble, contact us at support@lootlizard.app.

Account & Privacy

Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. This will permanently remove your cloud data within 30 days. Local data on your device will be removed when you uninstall the app.

LootLizard collects the data you provide (finds, photos, session data) plus basic analytics to improve the app. We do not sell your personal data. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot Password?" and enter your email address. You'll receive a password reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.

Yes! LootLizard stores all data locally on your device first. You can log finds, run sessions, and view your collection without an internet connection. Data syncs to the cloud automatically when you reconnect.

Troubleshooting

Try the following steps:

  • Ensure Location is set to "High accuracy" or "Precise" in your device settings.
  • Move to an area with clear sky view — trees and buildings can block GPS signals.
  • Wait 30 seconds after opening the app for the GPS to lock on.
  • Restart the app if the issue persists.

Try these steps:

  • Make sure you're running the latest version of LootLizard from the App Store or Google Play.
  • Restart the app by force-closing it and reopening.
  • Restart your device.
  • If the problem continues, email us at support@lootlizard.app with your device model, OS version, and a description of what happened.

Cloud sync requires an active internet connection and a signed-in account. Check that:

  • You're connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data.
  • You're signed in (Settings > Account).
  • Battery saver mode isn't restricting background sync.

You can force a sync from Settings > Sync Now. If issues persist, contact support.

Photo uploads require an internet connection. Large photos are compressed before upload to save bandwidth. If uploads are stuck:

  • Check your internet connection.
  • Ensure you haven't exceeded your storage limit (free accounts have limited cloud photo storage).
  • Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
